1. GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING THE FINAL PAPERS AND POSTERS
- The final version of accepted papers and posters should be submitted by e-mail, by September 15th 2018.
- Papers are required to meet the following conditions to be accepted for publication in the Conference Proceedings:
Closing date: September, 15th (Papers submitted after the deadline will not be published in the Conference Proceedings).
Languages: Catalan, Spanish or English.
Document file format: *doc or *docx.
Times New Roman font, size 11. Single space.
Not more than 12 pages, including all tables, figures (photos, images, maps, graphs or charts) footnotes and references (bibliography).
First page: should contain the following items:
- Paper title
- Author(s) details: author’s/authors’ name(s) and institutional affiliation (if any)
- Abstract in the same language as the paper (not more than 200 words)
- 5 keywords (separated by commas)
- Abstract in English (not more than 200 words)
- 5 Keywords in English (separated by commas)
References:
- At the end of the paper
- Under the heading “Bibliography”
- In alphabetical order (by the surname of the author)
Book
Format: AUTHOR’S SURNAME, Author’s name (Publication Year): Title of book. Publisher, City of publication
Example: BEZZANT, Norman (1987): The book of wine. Chartwell Books, Inc. New Jersey.
Chapter
Format: AUTHOR’S SURNAME, Author’s name (Publication Year): «Chapter», in EDITOR(S)’ SURNAME, Editor(s)’ name (ed.) Title of book, Publisher, p. pages
Example: HEMINGWAY, Ernest (1999): «The killers», in UPDKE, J & KENISON, J (ed.) The best American short stories of the century, MA: Houghton Mifflin, p. 78-80
Article
Format: AUTHOR’S SURNAME, Author’s name. (Publication Year): «Article title», in Periodical Title, num. volume(Issue), p. pages
Example: FALCONER, Keith (2005) «Industrial Archaeology goes Universal», in Industrial archaeology review, num. 27, 1, p. 23-26.
Website
Format: Title of the article, website, URL, [date the website was consulted].
Example: TICCIH. The International Committee for the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage, http://ticcih.org/ [February, 9th 2018].
Quotations:
- Direct quotes should go in between guillemets or French commas («»)
- Author’s commentaries should be incorporated in square brackets ([ ]) in order to distinguish complementary information from direct quotes.
Footnotes:
- Notes giving extra information about something that has been written on that page. Material to be footnoted should be marked with a raised number immediately following the words or ideas that are being cited. Footnotes should be numbered in sequence throughout the paper.
Example:
Red-wine production has points of similarity with white-wine production, but a number of differences, too – as many be deduced from the diagram on pages 38 and 391.
- Footnotes should be placed at the bottom of each page.
rmat: 1 Author’s surname (year), p. pages
Example: Bezzant (1987), p. 36.
Tables and figures:
- Tables, photos, images, maps, graphs and charts may be placed throughout the paper.
- However, they should be numbered in sequence and listed at the end of the paper, after the list of references (“Bibliography”), under the heading “Figures”.
- A maximum of 7 tables or figures is allowed.
- Minimum resolution: 300 pixels per inch
- File types: *jpg or *png.
Page numbers, headers and footers should not be included
- Poster presentations:
All posters will be displayed throughout the conference in the hall.
Posters will be printed by Consell de Mallorca.
Authors are responsible for designing and editing their posters.
Poster size: A1 size (594 × 841 millimetres or 23.39 × 33.11 inch)
Sections:
- Title (with name(s) of author(s) and affiliation(s); and contact information)
- Abstract (introduction / Objectives / Aims / Problem / Goal / Methods)
- Results / Conclusions
- 4 – 5 images
- Conference logo
Only PDF files will be accepted.
The final version of posters should be submitted by e-mail or shared via a cloud service for sharing data (like WeTransfer or Dropbox)
Closing date (for final version): September 15th, 2018.
2. GUIDELINES ON ORAL PRESENTATIONS
- Slides should be produced in Microsoft PowerPoint or a similar compatible software (in *.ppt or *.pps file format)
- Presentations should be submitted by e-mail or shared via a cloud service for sharing data (like WeTransfer or Dropbox) together with the final paper.
- Oral presentations should last no longer than 10 minutes.
- Languages: Catalan, Spanish or English.
- There will be simultaneous translation into English, Spanish and Catalan.
- If participants require any additional audiovisual equipment for their oral presentations, please contact the Conference Secretariat when sending their presentation file and final paper.
- Closing date (for final versions): October 15th, 2018.
